Skill Development Program
School students from a middle school in Bihar, India were asked to write a simple essay on the food habits of their family and the village in which they live. This essay was used to spark discussion about healthy food habits. ““Villagers eat simple food. They use dairy and fresh fruits and vegetables. This leads to their better health. They are sick less often.
My village cultivates paddy, wheat, green leafy vegetables and lentils, which we use in our daily diet. We have fish in our ponds, too. We eat them for our health. We have poultry to give us meat and eggs for proteins and vitamins. Our village has the key to our health.”
